The collapsing US military & economic empire is making Washington & NATO even more dangerous. US could not beat the Taliban but thinks it can take on China-Russia-Iran...a sign of psychopathology for sure. We must all do more to help stop this western corporate arrogance that puts the future generations lives in despair. @BruceKGagnon

DOG EAT DOG CULTURE

Watch this woman steal a baseball from a little girl.  It's the perfect example of the mindless greedy me-first culture we live in.  Not a thought that she'd taken away some little girl's great pleasure of getting a foul ball at the game.  Then she goes and high-fives (something I don't like doing under any circumstance) as if she'd done something real spectacular.

Fortunately the announcers had enough heart to send a ball down to the little girl.  But surely this girl learned an important lesson about the way things are in America.  Take what you want even if you have to run over a little girl.  That's American "exceptionalism" in a nut shell.

It should also be noted that this game was played in Houston, Texas. Enough said.......

It happened in Boston years ago. I was sitting in the bleachers in straight-away center field with a friend and my daughter aged 9 talking -- as was possible -- with the center fielder Dave Henderson. He caught a routine fly for the third out and tossed it to my daughter. Someone else reached out to grab the ball. The crowd immediately started a repetitive chant: "Give the kid the ball." He did. Years later, the kid was a ball girl for a day when she played pro softball and got to talk to Jason Varitek, who also gave the kid a ball. It sits next to her UMaine Athletic Hall of Fame award.

On behalf of dogs I take offense to the title!

Not that they don't steal balls from each other while playing fetch; but they do it in a much friendlier way.
